Islamic Centers in Puerto Rico

The Islamic Centers of Puerto Rico is a community where muslims can gather for prayers and to talk about their culture. This is a religious/culture community but also a virtual one, if you go to http://www.pupr.edu/msa/mosques.html you can find some mosques (the church of the muslims) that are in Puerto Rico. There are mesques at Fajardo, Ponce, Vega Alta and other towns. The muslims gather at these mesues to either pray or seek answers fro the Sheik (some type of priest). I decides to write about this because I find their culture very interesting and their religion very fascinating. These people pray to Allah, wich means God in arab, and have many rules and customs very different to ours. For example, women must cover their hair and body, because it can only be seen by their husbands.Men can have up to four wives, as long as he can mantain them all and treat them equally. Muslims cannot drink alcohol. Muslims can't eat pig meat, and many other things that are different. The Koran is their bible, they don't believe that Jesus is the son of God, but that he is a prophet of Allah. They follow the rules of the Koran exactly as it's written. Although they are different they are still people, and they love to do big celebration for birthdays, weddings and even when family menbers arrive for a visit. So if you ever want to visit these centers just go to the link above and try to find one closest to home, and remember altought these people are different they feel and have the same needs just like we do, so try to be nice and not to offend anyone.
